Applied Physiology Research Center is one of the basic biomedical science research centers approved by the Ministry of Health and Medical Education in the country. This center was established by guiding basic research in order to apply it in clinical sciences. Applied Physiology Research Center was approved and approved in principle by the founding members of the center including: Dr. Ali Nasimi, Dr. Mehdi Nemat Bakhsh, Dr. Morathi, Dr. Golshan and Dr. Leila Borjian and Mino Adib and then started its activities under the supervision of the vice president of research of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences.
After various annual evaluations of the research centers of the Ministry of Health, it was definitely approved in the 224th meeting of the Council for the Development of Medical Sciences Universities on 2/23/92.

 

The research council of the center in its first meeting in 2005 and with the belief that the research center should have a special research orientation, determined the research line of the center as vascular biology (endothelium function). With regard to its mission in expanding the fields of application, this center works with specialists in various fields, including cardiologists, pediatricians, gynecologists, cardiovascular surgeons, neurologists, eye and oral diseases, and... joint research projects with The approach to endothelium disorders has been defined. Since the general approach of the research center is translational research, which emphasizes bringing basic findings to the bedside, until 2019, the center's research projects have been investigating the role of the endothelium in diagnosing diseases and designing effective therapeutic interventions, focusing on the role of the endothelial system. In the field of technological projects, the main projects of artificial vessel production using endothelial progenitor cells and nano scaffolds produced in the country have been in the center. Since 1992, after conducting studies aimed at encouraging angiogenesis in ischemia, and considering the increase in the incidence of cancer and the increase in mortality due to it and the lack of basic science research centers in cancer, this center focused its research plan on cancer.It should be noted that the Applied Physiology Research Center is one of the sub-groups of Isfahan Cardiology Research Institute, it is also a member of the country's molecular medicine network and also a member of the country's strategic technologies laboratory network. In February 2014, during a meeting and visit of the Strategic Technologies Laboratory Network, the Applied Physiology Research Center became a member of this network.
